So, how can we achieve the ballet-inspired look without looking old-fashioned or too hippy? The number one recommendation is the knee-length frothy skirt - whether it's ruffled or tiered. Choose solid colors or printed fabrics and wear the skirt with a sheer top or a corset-style, slim-fitting blouse in order to achieve a modern yet unitary look.

Girly dresses are next on the list, whether we're talking maxi dresses or any other cut that compliments your body shape.

One of the hottest combinations of the season is the bias dress cut (preferably in white) paired with a light jeans jacket and a pair of gladiator sandals.

Embellish your outfit with subtle ballerina details - a nice V or scooped neckline, a flounce of lace at the hem of the skirt or dress, dresses made of silk or satin in nice, vintage colors such as pearl, muted pink, a light silvery-lavender, washed-out blue or green. If you go for an outfit that's got multiple colors, accessorize it with nude colored shoes to keep the soft feeling about you, and add a single theatrical piece of jewelry - a cuff bracelet or a sparkling necklace with one single gem. An embroidered satchel or a petite ruffled purse will make the style work even better, giving you a quirky yet creative and romantic air.

First of all, I have to say I love ALL of thes photos! What an amazing selection and totally en pointe (get it??). Secondly, thanks for the instruction on how to wear the look - I think you are right about the corset top; will look smashing! Thirdly, love Charles Anastase, Pollini and Sasha P modeling the look.
